Vicious by L.J. Shen

Synopsis

Emilia

They say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it’s true.
The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares.
He is a brilliant lawyer.
A skilled criminal.
A beautiful liar.
A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.
Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn’t leaving until he takes me with him.

Vicious

She is a starving artist.
Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom.
Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down.
She paid the price.
Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my best friend’s ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate.
That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn’t.
So she hates me. Big fucking deal.
She better get used to me.

My Thoughts

Vicious is a man oh so deserving of his name. We are taken on the crazy love affair… if you want to call it that of Emilia Leblanc and Bane “Vicious” Spencer. My first impression of Vicious is hello damaged heartthrob… just my type. I am such a sucker for the bad boy type especially when paired with a strong heroine. I am also in such awe of Emilia; she is such a bad ass. She is so independent and strong which is exactly the type of woman Vicious needs.
I will say the “start” to their love affair is so wild to me! I did not know how it was going to play out with Dean in the mix when they so clearly didn’t belong together. And ugh how awful vicious was to her, I truly never thought they would work it out but after that encounter in the club 10 years later I knew it was game over. Talk about two unlikely souls finding love in each other. As the book when on and we learned why Vicious was the way he is my heart broke for him.
I saw just how much he needed Emilia and was glad he got his head out his butt long enough to see it too. Their sexual compatibility is also one for the books… literally Hot damn hot damn, make sure if you’re listening to this on audible like I did that you are in private during those scenes because FIRE!
